I am studying hard for the Greek final on August 24th.  The kids are now in school.

To protect my kids on the internet, I will refer to them by initials S & B.

B about ran to school the 1st day, she has since slowed down despite her assurance that the fast walk on the 1st day was her normal speed. I guess that she is excited to be going to school. At her school they had a start of school year ceremony outside with lots of Spanish music being sung. Teaching Spanish to the children is considered very important at the kid’s schools and they get taught it every day.

S goes to a different school as they split up the schools here k-3 & 4-5. S thought it was fun that his class is in the basement and he gets a locker! Every morning he catches the bus at 7:05, compared to the 8:30 that he used to catch it at in Charlotte. Both are back home shortly after 3 pm in the afternoon when they go play with the other kids at Seminary.

Just so you know, the poor kids both had to get additional immunization shots and check ups before they could attend school in Georgia. Luckily for me, Charles dealt with that. He did tell me that one of the receptionist’s at the Dr’s office was singing to patients as she was planning to audition for American Idol. Only bad news from the Dr’s visit was that B will need to consider getting glasses in the next year or two.

My dad and Charles built a patio cover at the back of the apartment so that we would have a little more room for storing bicycles and other outside stuff.  It still needs to experience its first Rain and Wind test.

The other day you could find Charles with his feet sticking out from under our van in the apartment parking lot as he dealt with a spraying gas leak. My dad stood guard ready to haul him out should he get into trouble. Leak was fixed successfully. That is two months now that he has worked on cars when he advised before we left Charlotte that he was giving it up with the move to seminary.

Kids and grandparents went to the Stone Mountain Light show and had a great time watching the lasers and fireworks. The kids had lots to talk about when they returned the next day from another overnight stay with Grandma & Grandpa in their camper. Unfortunately with all the swimming they have been doing S came down with swimmers ear and we are in the process of getting that healed. Ear plugs are definitely the way to go.

On Friday last week, my parents took us all out for a meal, which was nice of them and it was great to take a break from cooking. My parents left for home a few days later and I am sure the kids will miss them as they truly enjoyed having them here.

Charles has posted his resume online this week and has had several people express interest. He has also followed up on some opportunities provided by folks at Seminary. I do not believe his vacation will last much longer. Then it will become a question of arranging Child Care for the times he is at work and that I am studying.

.

That is all for today. Thank you again for your prayers and your notes. Check back for the latest news
